Transportation Planning
Planning for a Multimodal Future
HSH provides a variety of transportation planning services primarily for public-sector clients. We have prepared corridor studies, parking studies, Complete Streets plans, safety action plans, and the transportation aspects of municipal master plans. We perform a wide variety of transportation data collection and studies including vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist counts; origin-destination surveys; license plate surveys; parking inventory, occupancy, and turnover studies; crash data and safety analysis; sensitivity analysis; bicycle and pedestrian demand and needs analysis; various GIS-based analyses; transit studies of ridership and operations; traffic analysis and modeling; and environmental justice analysis.
We review best practices for a variety of transportation-related policies and planning and advise our clients on how those best practices can be applied to their projects.
At HSH, we get Complete Streets. It begins with our company-wide commitment toward Complete Streets and active transportation and continues with our subject matter experts that have been at the cutting edge of multimodal planning and design for many years. We pride ourselves on knowing how to design and build Complete Streets. Using a comprehensive approach, we evaluate the needs of all users by identifying the most vulnerable users and the greatest needs for the community at large. This approach allows us to create a balanced design that fulfills the community’s needs within the context and character of the roadway.
