Wickaboag Valley Road over Sucker Brook Bridge Replacement

HSH was responsible for the highway design, environmental permitting, temporary traffic control, and Right of Way (ROW) portions of this Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) bridge replacement project. The highway design piece consisted of the roadway surface for this two-lane bridge with one proposed sidewalk and approximately 400 feet of approach roadway. HSH developed signage, pavement marking, and temporary traffic control plans. This bridge was closed for reconstruction so HSH developed a detour plans. The staging also involved the installation of a temporary pedestrian bridge during construction, something important to abutters. HSH was also responsible for the environmental permitting which involved of developing the 401 Water Quality Certification (WQC) package as well as plans for an Army Corps permit. The 401 WQC package consisted of an application, narrative, and specific plans that depicted the impacts to resource areas and the proposed wetland replication. HSH was responsible for all preliminary and final ROW plans, as well as the design and implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for sedimentation and erosion control.
