HSH Celebrates the Retirement of Guy Busa

HSH was delighted to celebrate the retirement of Guy Busa, a transportation pioneer who dedicated 36 years to the company and was instrumental to its growth and success. Colleagues, friends, and family gathered at the UMass Club on October 9, 2024, to congratulate Guy and reminisce on his illustrious career.
Reflecting on Guy’s journey, founder Jane Howard expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Little did we know back in 1987 at that first lunch with Kathy and me in Concord, that the young engineer, so tentative about possibly joining our small company as Employee #5, would be retiring from a company of over 100 some 36 years later!”
Guy began his career at HSH by assisting Arnie Bloch in the New York City office, where he contributed to the JFK 2000 Master Plan. His move to Boston marked the start of a pivotal chapter, where he played a key role in establishing the Boston office and led HSH’s work on numerous high-profile projects, including One Lincoln Street and the Kingston-Bedford Garage.
Throughout his tenure, Guy showcased a commitment to excellence and tenacity, often standing firm in negotiations, as demonstrated during the Central Artery Tunnel (CA/T) Atlantic Avenue project. His leadership style, characterized by building strong relationships and maintaining respect for project requirements, earned him the admiration of clients and colleagues alike.
As he embarks on this new chapter, Guy leaves behind not only a legacy of successful projects, but also a strong path forward for his colleagues in the HSH Land Development Group. HSH is grateful for Guy’s contributions and leadership over the years and wishes him a fulfilling and relaxing retirement.
