Complete Streets Prioritization Plans

Various Cities/Towns
Statewide, Massachusetts

HSH is working with several municipalities to create Complete Streets Prioritization Plans that widen the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s (MassDOT’s) required scope to include tools the municipalities can use to take advantage of development mitigation, repaving work, and other opportunities. Each Plan includes Bicycle and Pedestrian Level of Comfort maps, as well as a measure of latent bicycle and pedestrian demand. The scope of work includes compiling existing data and studies; significant data collection including signal and ADA inventories; and identification of 15 or more top projects for increasing walking and biking. The Plans serve as Complete Streets game plans for each municipality for the next five years and are easily updatable so the municipality can use it for decades to come.

Completed plans include: Agawam, Athol, Bolton, Bridgewater, Brookline, Chelmsford, Cohasset, Devens, Dunstable, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Everett, Fall River, Hanover, Lancaster, Leicester, Milton, Norfolk, Northbridge, Paxton, Princeton, Salisbury, Stow, Swampscott, Tisbury, Ware, West Springfield, and West Tisbury.
